Interesting...something I found lying around, written ages ago
Yes, we crave the heady rush and perhaps we crave for that stabbing pain that won't go away when it all comes crashing down. The pain is this annoying yet intangible pain that you can somehow feel physically, right at the heart. And no painkillers can help you. Ah, such a special, one of a kind pain.
Passion is relative. Passion from the wrong person makes you want to crawl into a hole and hide. Passion to the wrong person makes painful agony, yet makes you laugh as time passes by, at your one petulant silliness. Passion with the right person makes you hopeful, and makes you into this grinning
idiot. Yet, how often do we find that? Is it not a mere illusion? Which dulls our ability to reason? And throws out our better judgement? I must admit, I'm a sucker for passion, that X-factor. How delightful it is to see her email or letter in the mailbox, her voice over the phone, her wit over IMs, her eyes so clear and truthful. All that, to sustain your passion, till it ends, before a whole new cycle begins. A different cycle, with its own idiosyncracies. Yet, the pattern is unmistakable.
As for looks, again it is relative. Today, you may think of her as the most beautiful woman in the world, but yet to the bystanders, they think you are nuts. When it is all over, that spot is assumed by the likes of Natalie Portman and Gong Li. But soon, someone else, someone real will take that place again.
At the end of the day, you want to feel safe. And you want to feel loved and cared for. And you want to give the same comfort and warmth in return.
For it all to start, I believe, the person must make your heart skip a beat.
